Dubai’s Hippest Pop-Up Market

A new pop-up shopping experience in Dubai brings together an eclectic mix of designer brands says Dubai’s DIY Diva Karen E Joyce.

As part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, Burj Park in Downtown Dubai has transformed into a pop-up market boasting of chic design labels for your home and wardrobe – with focus on sustainable products. At the footsteps of the Burj Khalifa, retail spaces styles from discarded cargo container are vying for attention as a live band, fresh food kiosks and fashion workshops hosted by The JamJar keep you entertained.

As much Dubai is about retail and the core of any market is to sell, the success of the MarketOTB lies in its laid back atmosphere and the promise that there is something for every member of your family – including morning Yoga sessions. And its dog friendly!

Our favorite, of course was Comptoir 102 – it’s amazing to see owners Emma and Alex introducing Dubai to a new aesthetic. Kaleidoscope by Mimi was on trend with its ikat inspired prints.

Jan Laurent’s prints were infectious must-haves. Mochi was another crowd favourite for its spin on traditional crafts.
